I use the Hummingbird 140c on my canoe and it works great. Portable easy to use and with some basic knowledge and understanding of how fish finders are used greatly increases your chance for success on the water. Today I located a weed line oblivious to the surface of the water that drops off from 3' to 10' loaded with crappie bass and northern pike. I would have never been able to locate that spot without the use of the Hummingbird 140c. It is an asset that I greatly appreciate on my boat. I have used it in torrential downpour of rain with no negative effects from being wet. I use lithium batteries which last a vary long time, well worth the extra cost for the lithium batteries. I also really enjoy the color screen. I have a small portable GPS I use in conjunction with my Hummingbird 140c to mark known areas of interest and mark where I catch fish turning my simple canoe into a sophisticated fishing vessel.

Great mobile fish finder with side scan. Use it on my float tube, kayak, rental skiffs and even my boat. Accurate and easy to use.

The Humminbird 525 fish finder utilizes a high-contrast, 5-inch, 12-level grayscale FSTN LCD display with 240 x 240 lines of resolution to provide you with crystal-clear views of fish, the bottom topography and surrounding structures. This unit makes use of a 20-degree single-beam sonar that is optimized for coverage and precision bottom detail. This powerful system ultimately provides you with a reliable picture up to a depth of 800 feet, and with Real Time Sonar and Sonar Echo Enhancement you not only instantly capture the action under your boat, but get a target separation of as little as 2.5 inches and can track a small jig to over 40 feet. This unit's high-speed, micro-dynamic transducer is reliable up to 70 mph, and even includes water temperature and speed capability.

The 525 fish finder features a TripLog with distance, elapsed time, and average speed, totally automatic or manual operation depending upon your need at the time, and alarms for depth, fish, and battery. I can't fault this unit....really easy install on my kayak, works like a charm....I have a great range of preferences for my particular usage and it's so entertaining, I sometimes just paddle around just to see whats under me....it's really great!
Has made a big difference to my catch rate and confidence, knowing that I am not sitting over a fishless area trying hard to catch fish that are not there. Great for finding submerged structure as well!
I love it!
Great Product for the panfish fisherman!!!

Not sure if my review will weight much to others but this product helps you put fish in the boat. On my last trip out on a local georgia lake, me and a partner were the only two catching fish (well it was a cold fall day and many were leaving because of it). The fish were on the move due to fall lake turnover but we used the Real time sonar window and could see our jigs and the depth of the fish. When the fish moved by the boat we know just how deep they were and could see our jigs so we knew how deep or shalow to go. This fishfinder works great.
